Hello everyone,

Our food pantry will be open this Saturday, September 19th. We will offer our normal client-choice shopping experience. There will be a variety of produce, bakery goods, and other assorted grocery items. We look ahead to seeing you there!

Here are the key details and schedule for Saturday:

Location & Parking:

You are welcome to park anytime at Fairview Elementary school.
The church parking lot opens at 9:45 am.
PLEASE ONLY PARK IN DESIGNATED PARKING SPOTS.

Schedule & Times:

9:45 am: Parking lot opens
10:00 am: Announcements in the Sanctuary
10:15 am: Registration begins
10:30 am: Pantry opens for shopping
12:00 pm: Registration ends
12:30 pm: Pantry closes for shopping

What to expect when visiting East County Food Pantry for the first time

Community Code of Conduct

Help us to foster a community of collaboration, health, dignity, and love. By shopping here, you agree to:

Be respectful to all staff, volunteers, and neighbors.

Concern for personal dignity is of great importance. Respect, kindness, consideration, cooperation, and
patience are expected from all neighbors receiving food.

Follow posted signs and limitations.

Do not take more than what is allowed so that there is enough for everyone.

Be Patient

Honor the rules in the food pantry and trust that they are necessary to give us time to set-up and distribute
enough food to as many people as possible in an equitable manner.

Return Shopping Carts and Numbers

The carts and numbers are expensive to replace. When not returned, it slows down the food distribution.

When there is conflict or concerns, please don’t cause a scene or pressure a volunteer.

Talk with our security guard, Armin; our Food Pantry Director, Julie; and/or Pastor Brad.

Help Provide a Safe Environment for Everyone.

The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

Verbal threats or derogatory and/or threatening statements including but not limited to loud, obnoxious, and inappropriate conversations, suggestive comments, slurs, and innuendo.

Physical acts of violence or aggression including intimidation, unwanted touching, harassment, sexual harassment and/or coercion as well as any behavior(s) that make other individuals or staff feel uncomfortable and/or unsafe.

Emotional abuse including attacks on a person’s dignity, integrity, and competence.

Throwing objects, tampering with and/or damaging property.

Theft

Any behavior that impedes the providers and other staff members’ ability to meet with individuals and/or provide safe and effective care.

Possession of weapons on the premises including guns, knives, or anything that can be classified as or used as a weapon.

Possession and use of alcohol or illegal substances while on premises

The East County Food Pantry has the right to refuse service if the above code is violated.
